I was diagnosed with arthritis about four years ago. For the first three and a half years, I was suffering with it. I had to cut back on my activities on the days where I did not feel very well, and slowly that became the norm. I was growing very frustrated with life, and I talked with my doctor about alternatives. I was taking medication for my arthritis, but it just did not seem like it was very effective for what I needed. My doctor suggested that I see a Cary chiropractor if I wanted to try a more holistic approach, which I absolutely did.
He gave me the name of a good chiropractor, and I made an appointment to be seen that same week. I wanted to have my life back, and I felt that this might be the first step in that direction. I was not sure what to expect at first, and I was told that is usually the initial response. The chiropractor who helped me regain control of my life explained everything to me, every single step of the way. He became such a huge part of my success that I have even sent other people there to see him.
When you have to stop playing tennis because it hurts too much, you just kind of accept it. When you have to garden only on days when you are feeling up to it, you just attribute it as part of the aging process. But, when you can no longer hold your young granddaughter because it just hurts too much, that is when something has to give. That only happened to me a few times, but that was a few times too many. Now, I can hold her, I can garden, and I can play tennis again too!
